Lourdes ends season at state tournament
Lourdes Central Catholic falls to North Platte St. Pats
LINCOLN-Lourdes Central Catholic came into the state basketball tournament as the #8 seed in Class D1, which would match them up against #1 seed North Platte St. Pats.
On paper it looked as though the Knights would have a difficult challenge in front of them, and the Irish lived up to their hype.
NPSP controlled the tempo of the game for the first 3 quarters and would go into halftime with a 27-16 lead. Led by the physical dominance of sophomore Brecken Erickson, the Irish would control the paint on offense and defense.
The five starting seniors for the Knights would not go quietly though. They outscored NPSP in the 4th quarter 18-9, but it wasn't quite enough as the Irish would win by a final score of 54-49.
Lourdes Central Catholic will end their season with a record of 15-11.
