Filing deadline for Richardson County ballots
Two candidates file to fill seat vacated by Merz

FALLS CITY - The May 10 primary ballot in Richardson County is taking shape following Tuesday’s filing deadline.
Four county board, John Caverzagie and John Coonce are seeking the District 1 seat.
Dyann Herr, Ted Schuler and Ron Rathbone have filed for mayor of Humboldt.
Shawna Bindle and Mark Harkendorff have filed for mayor of Falls City. Harkendorff was a write-in candidate in 2018, When Bindle was first elected.
For Falls City City Council Ward 3 there is a contested race by Jeromie Brown and Shawn Fouraker.
Incumbent Councilman Mitch Merz is not seeking re-election. In a Facebook post, Merz thanked Falls City for his six years in office and said it will be good to have new voices on the council. He plans to focus his attention on his family and future business plans.
Council members Don Ferguson, Joe Buckminster and Derrick Leyden are running unopposed.
