Smithsonian exhibit coming to Tecumseh
Crossroads: Change in Rural America
TECUMSEH – The Johnson County Museum will host the Smithsonian travel exhibit, Crossroads: Change in Rural America, Oct. 8 through Nov. 12.
The exhibit explores how rural America changed in the 20th century, including a national population decrease from 60 to 17 percent. It also features how rural American has responded to societal changes.
Sarah Williamson of the Johnson County Historical Society said the exhibit invites reflection on the southeast Nebraska history and exploration of what the future might hold.
Williamson: “In conjunction with the exhibit, we have scheduled presentations from various individuals who will share their story of how they or their organization responded when standing at the “crossroads.”
The museum in Tecumseh was chosen as one of seven locations to host the exhibit through June of 2022.
