SIDNEY - Wheat Belt Public Power District didn't have any issues during the day on Saturday, but a company spokeswoman says they have crews on standby when a blizzard warning goes into effect for the Sidney area at 11 p.m.
According to Kelli Chaon, Wheat Belt has taken steps to make sure the power stays on.
"Basically, right now, our concern is the ice, freezing rain and the winds that will be picking up," Chaon said. "I know our crews spent most of Friday getting ready, making sure the machines and trucks are ready and fueled up."
Chaon says the heavy snow and wind in the forecast will cause havoc on power lines and poles.
If you suffer a power outage, you're asked to call your power company.
