One person hurt in Friday collision, north of Beatrice
Accident blocks northbound U.S. 77 traffic

BEATRJCE – One person was taken to a Lincoln hospital following a Friday collision on U.S. Highway 77, north of Beatrice.
The accident happened during the noon hour, near the Homestead Plaza Truck Stop. Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies say the drivers involved in the collision were 22-year-old Londyn Bogseth, of Odell and 85-year-old Victor Schuerman, of Dewitt.
Bogseth was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima which collided with Schuerman’s 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
Northbound traffic was shut down on U.S. 77 while emergency workers put out a small fire in the Nissan. Bogseth was taken by Beatrice Fire and Rescue to Bryan Health West in Lincoln. Schuerman was not injured.
Both drivers were using safety restraints and airbags deployed in both vehicles.
