Six sites distribute vaccine in SEDHD

Phase 1B includes 75+, grocery store workers, manufactures and others

AUBURN - The Southeast District Health Department is reaching out to people 75 years and older regarding the availability of vaccine.

Six site within the district are serving as distribution locations for COVID-19 for those currently eligible to receive it.

The state Department of Health and Human Service lists 75+ as eligible fro vaccine in Phase 1B, which is expected to begin in January and continue through February. First responders, grocery store workers, manufacturing and teachers are also eligible in Phase 1B.

Appointments are required, no walk-ins will be accepted.

The Southeast District Health Department COVID-19 dashboard shows 3,129 cases and 39 confirmed deaths since May.

In the last 30 days, there have been 685 cases and 39 deaths. Otoe County has 206 cases, Johnson County, 162; Nemaha County 159 and Richardson County, 125.

The weekly positivity rate was at 33 percent on Jan. 10.
