NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska City City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2.
The agenda includes the appointment of Lou Leone as city administrator and Tristan Egri as an honorary police officer.
A public hearing is also scheduled regarding the $600,000 purchase of land at 1419 N. 19th St. for a municipal sports complex.
Also on the agenda are a $125,000 sprinkler system for the Memorial Building and $3,000 for design of auditorium lighting.
The meeting is available on the Zoom format.
Regarding a proposal to buy land for a field complex, a notice of public hearing says the city would be subject to the easements of the Elmwood Cemetery Association to burial plots.
The city would pay $200,000 by Dec. 1 and the remaining $400,000 by 2022. A house and barn on the farmstead are subject to a rental agreement.
The Nebraska City fire station renovation is proposed to incorporate living quarters for all emergency staff, add a new day room, remodel existing kitchen and use Bill Davis room for training.
The city council will consider declaring a building at 1014 S. Third St. as unsafe. It is expected to cost the city $4,500 to pursue demolition.
