Authorities investigating fatality accident involving Sidney High graduate
SCOTTSBLUFF - A Mitchell, Neb. man is dead following a single vehicle accident west of Scottsbluff early Sunday morning.
The Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Department says Joshua Green, 34, was traveling westbound on Hwy. 26 near the South Beltline overpass around 3:24 a.m. when he went onto the shoulder, over corrected and crossed all four lanes of the highway. His vehicle, a 2007 Chevy Suburban, went over the Burlington Northern railroad tracks and struck an embankment.
Green is a 2004 graduate from Sidney High School.
Deputies say seatbelts were not in use and alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor.
The Scottsbluff Police Department, Scotts Bluff Rural Fire Department, Valley Ambulance and the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office all responded to the scene.
