VALLEY – The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for this evening and overnight.

A flash flood watch is in effect through Monday morning for portions of southeast Nebraska, including Gage, Jefferson, Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee, Richardson and Saline counties.

Heavy rain is expected to develop Sunday afternoon with increased intensity after 7 p.m.

Most areas could see anywhere from two to four inches of rainfall with some heavier pockets of five inches.

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
