MARYVILLE – The City of Maryville, Mo., posted a notice Tuesday regarding an ordinance to require face coverings in the public during the COVID-19 emergency and recovery.

A press release from the city says the city, Northwest Missouri State University, Nodaway County Health Department and Mosaic Medical Center support the mask policy, which extends through Sept. 30.

Statement: “With several thousand Northwest Missouri State University students from across the country and world returning to Maryville in the coming weeks, face coverings may prevent further exponential growth in positive cases.”

Masks are required in all cases where individuals can not be expected to stay at least six feet away from people outside of their immediate households.
