NEBRASKA CITY – Lourdes Central Catholic announced Monday the hiring of Trevor Krenk as the new head boys’ basketball coach.

Athletic Director Jon Borer said Krenk is an exciting hire for the school.

Borer: “He has experience both as a player and as a coach in addition to having some excellent mentors to draw from. We expect for him to continue to grow our program, from the youth levels up."

Krenk last coached at David City High School as an assistant football coach from 2018 to 2020. He also spent time in 2015 to 2017 at Nebraska City High School as an assistant coach for football and girls basketball.

Krenk will take over a Lourdes program that won three consecutive state titles in 2016, 2017 and 2018. He will take over for former coach Gabe Rohde.

Krenk said he is excited to have an opportunity to coach in his hometown.

Krenk: “This is a big step in my young coaching career, and I am grateful to be working with the staff and athletes at Lourdes Central Catholic.

I want to thank Jon Borer and the hiring committee for trusting me to coach the Knight basketball program. I have always admired the hard-work and dedication of the Lourdes’student athletes and I’m looking forward to continuing their tradition of  excellence.”
