AUBURN – A second Saturday of peaceful protest was held along Highway 136 in Auburn.

The Auburn protest included people holding signs at the intersection of Highway 75, while others drove through the commercial district or held signs from their yards.

Protesting in Omaha on Friday was also peaceful enough for Mayor Jean Stothert to cancel the curfew for Saturday night.

Stothert said Wednesday she would rescind the curfew, but sent out a news release the following day saying it was back on for Friday and Saturday. There were five protest events planned in Omaha and Saturday.

Mourners in the North Carolina hometown of George Floyd demonstrated with a planned march. Floyd died 12 days ago while in police custody.

Large protests have also been held in London, Paris, Berlin and Sydney, Australia.
