Auburn Man Charged For High Speed Pursuit
Deputy says McVay told investigators he made phone calls, answered Snapchats and never had two hands on the wheel

AUBURN - 20-year-old Jacob McVay of Auburn is charged with possession and driving to avoid arrest on April 4.
Court records say a Nemaha County sheriff’s deputy attempted a traffic stop in Auburn of a Pontiac G6, but the car weaved through residential streets and left town. The Nebraska State Patrol joined the pursuit as the car went through Brock and Johnson.
An arrest affidavit says there was a near collision with a deputy’s cruiser at a Highway 67 intersection and spike strips were used near McVay’s residence. McKay was taken into custody inside of his residence.
The arrest affidavit says McVay told deputies that during the pursuit he he made phone calls, opened Snapchats and never had two hands on the steering wheel.
