NEBRASKA CITY -  A county court judge has dismissed a charge of possession of methamphetamine against 27-year-old Brent Borrego of Nebraska City.

Judge David Partsch said a sheriff’s deputy testified at preliminary hearing that the traffic stop was on Highway 2 near Highways 54/52. The judge said while there are county roads 52 and 54, the court can not assume that is what the deputy meant. Since there are no Highway 54 or 52 in Otoe County, the court can not determine that Otoe County has jurisdiction over the case.

Borrego was a passenger in a car driven by 22-year-old Brooklyn Proplesh when she was pulled over Feb. 29. Borrego was arrested after a K9 search of the vehicle.
