LINCOLN – A group of Nebraska state senators are calling on the Nebraska Congressional delegation to work with the Trump Administration to re-open the Affordable Care Act enrollment period  in response to the ongoing coronavirus healthcare crisis.

The state senators sent a letter to the delegation saying Nebraskans need immediate help.

Letter: “We are facing a record surge in unemployment.  The administration must re-open the Affordable Care Act enrollment period to ensure that everyone who needs it has access to health insurance.”

The delegation says extending the special enrollment period will benefit people who have recently lost jobs or have been unable to obtain health insurance.
