LINCOLN – Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Director Scott Frakes announced Thursday that all staff members will be required to wear face masks while at work.
The mandate includes 10 prison facilities and Cornhusker State Industries.
Frakes: “We continue to take steps as circumstances warrant that will best protect our teammates, our inmates and the public.”
Anyone who enters a corrections facility will be screened and required to wear a mask.
The masks worn by staff members are washable to be reused daily.
Frakes: “The landscape is changing daily in terms of new information that we receive about this illness and how best to prevent it. NDCS will do what is necessary to stay one step ahead of the curve.”
