PSC Cheer Reaches High Score Of Season
Peru States sets high score of 63.05 at Nebraska triangular

PERU – After modifying its routine due to some injuries and personnel changes, the Peru State competitive cheer team scored its highest total of the season.
The Bobcats scored 63.05 while competing in a triangular hosted by Concordia in Seward Wednesday night. In addition, this was the performance where the team did not have any deductions for execution of different stunts.
The Hastings Broncos cheer team won the triangular as they, too, had their highest competition score of the season as they finished with a 78.1 total. The hosts finished third with a total of 62.1.
Cheer competition scoring is based on three different components – building skills, tumbling/jumping skills, and the overall routine.
Peru State coach Brooke Earnest was pleased with the continued improvement of her team. Earnest noted, “Having made changes on Sunday due to an injury, I was extremely proud of how the group performed tonight. We will continue to work on execution as we prepare for the next two competitions.”
Upcoming Competitions
The Bobcats will be participating in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) Championship hosted by MidAmerica Nazarene in Olathe, Kansas, on Saturday, February 15.
Two weeks later, Peru State will be competing in the NAIA Regional Competition hosted by Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas.
