NEBRASKA CITY – The Veterans Memorial Building in Nebraska City  continued to showcase its functionality on Veterans Day by hosting a duet from the Heartland of America Band Raptor.

The sound quality was excellent said building volunteer Gloria Glover as Tech Sergeant Paul Wells played guitar and Airman First Class Mario Foreman-Powell sang. Both men are stations at Offutt Air Force Base.

Foreman-Powell is a former SkySox Idol  and winner of the Colorado Springs National Anthem contest.

Following the concert, Blue Star Mothers awarded veterans Foy Thayer, Loran Patton and Jerry Martin, all of Nebraska City, and Jerry Nelson of Verdon, with Quilts of Valor.
