NEMAHA COUNTY – An Auburn couple face methamphetamine charges after Nemaha County deputies were dispatched on what was described as a hostage situation.

Court records indicate that deputies were sent to an N Street residence on Oct. 9 on a report that a man was holding a woman hostage at gunpoint.

An arriving deputy took 34-year-old Cory Valenta into custody and located 18-year-old Allyssa Dean of Auburn in the seat of a car inside the garage.

Charges have not been filed regarding domestic assault, but deputies say meth residue was found in the car.
