NEBRASKA CITY – The Nebraska City Pioneers opened the 2019 season with a 35 to 12 victory over Schuyler at Pioneer Field on Friday.

The Pioneers built a 21 to 0 lead and took a 28 to 12 advantage into the half.

The only score in the second half came after a couple of Pioneer interceptions. Quarterback Jordan Williams hit sophomore Braden Thompson with a big gain on the scoring drive and returned to him in the corner of end zone for a 15-yard touchdown pass.
