Otoe County Emergency Management has released drone photographs taken after a Union Pacific train derailed near the Missouri River at Nebraska City Wednesday.

The derailment involved 11 cars. The train had three locomotives and 110 cars hauling corn bound for Amarillo, Texas.

Union Pacific spokeswoman Raquel Espinoza told the Associated Press that is not yet clear what caused the derailment on tracks owned by a grain company operating a nearby elevator.

One car was half submerged and two others were in the creek bed. One car landed on top of portions of the timber bridge near First Street.

Union Pacific described the bridge as a trestle.
