Deer Creek Sodbusters Plan Antique Machinery Show Aug. 11
Horse drawn machinery demonstration joins engine displays
The Deer Creek Sodbusters will hold their 37th Annual Antique Machinery Show on Sunday, Aug. 11, at their showgrounds - 72927 610 Ave. – 4 ½ miles south of Sterling – rain or shine.
The featured tractors are Minneapolis-Moline and Engine lines M, N, and O.
Steam Engines, gas engines, antique tractors, antique cars and trucks, sawmill, blacksmith, rusty iron museum, toy displays, railroad depot, a children’s playground and barnyard are part of the day-long family event.
They offer a free “hayride” shuttle service from the parking area to the event grounds. A refreshment stand will be available on the grounds, as well as a Craft & Flea Market.
Events include flag raising at 8 a.m., outdoor church service at 8:15 a.m. and the machinery demonstrations of machinery used during the era when horses were used for farming.
Also scheduled are the “Get Together Band", Guest Speaker Charlotte Endorf doing the story of Grace Snyder, kids straw pile scavenger hunt, and threshing with an old Steam Engine.

The Deer Creek Sodbusters show is the only show in Nebraska to be officially designated a “Local Legacy” by the U.S. Library of Congress.
