JOHNSON, NE - The Eagles defended their nest against the Indians on Saturday, picking up a pair of wins, as heard on B103.

Johnson-Brock's ladies started the afternoon with a 48-33 win over Weeping Water. The Indians were strong at the free throw line, connecting on 14/20 there, but Johnson-Brock was a comparable 11/17. The Eagles held an advantage from downtown, draining 9/33 from deep to Weeping Water's 2/19. JB had three players in double figures. Kasie Knippelmeyer led the team with 17 points; Daley Pelican finished with a dozen to go with five rebounds & five assists; and Lauren Behrends turned in a double-double with eleven points, eleven boards, and four steals. Freshman Ella Huskey knocked down 20 points and snared five steals in the loss. Kallie Brack only had three points for WW, but she did secure 13 rebounds. WW fell to 8-5 with the loss, while JB improved to 9-4.

The boys game was all Johnson-Brock as the Eagles soared to an 87-21 triumph. JB went 6/13 from long range, and they dominated the turnover department, 25-4. Brody Koehler & Oliver Everett each had 15 points for the hosts, while Deacon Bernadt added 14 points & seven rebounds, and Grady Behrends hit for a dozen points. Leading the Indians was Keegan Wipf-Dieter with eight points. Weeping Water is now 1-10 on the season, while Johnson-Brock is 10-1.

Next up for the Indians is a home DH against Mead on Tuesday, while the Johnson-Brock teams do battle in the MUDECAS Tournament in Beatrice this week.
