Palmyra Basketball Teams Take Two in Tiger Town

FALLS CITY, NE - The Panthers of Palmyra secured two wins over the Tigers in Falls City on Friday, as heard on B103.
In the girls' contest, Palmyra picked up a 42-26 win. Chailey Badertscher led the Panthers with 13 points, while Xylie Badertscher chimed in with ten. FC got seven points apiece from Carlea Dunkhas & Brynna Glathar. Palmyra slid above .500 with the win at 4-3, while Falls City remained winless at 0-6.
For the guys, it was all Palmyra, 65-27. The Panthers were relentless at the free throw line, canning 17/20 attempts. Falls City connected on just 3/7 there. After holding a two-point lead through one frame, the Panthers roared to a 32-17 lead at halftime. Harrison Boyte led a very balanced attack for Palmyra with 13 (going 7/7 at the stripe), while his teammate Kade Kassebaum hit for ten. Paxton Armbruster was the lone player in double digit points for FC, hitting for 13, but going 1/7 from downtown. FC is searching for its first win still at 0-6, while Palmyra sits at 3-4.
Both teams move into holiday tournaments next. The Panthers will be in the David City Tournament, while the Tigers will take part in the Weeping Water Tourney. Each tourney takes place on December 29 & 30.
