NEBRASKA CITY – A Talmage man is charged with burglary and possession of methamphetamine in Otoe.

An arrest affidavit says the Nebraska State Patrol investigated suspicious activity near the county road shop in Otoe on Dec. 28 and made contact with Christopher Chilton, 38, outside of his car.

An Otoe County sheriff’s deputy deployed a K9 and the car was searched. The affidavit says officers located numerous tools, saws and auto parts, as well as unused needles. The affidavit says methamphetamine was found in Chilton’s pocket.

The sheriff’s deputy said freshly fallen snow revealed a break-in at a nearby abandoned house. Items had been moved toward the door.

A $50,000 bond was set for Chilton. A woman with him was arrested on outstanding warrants.
