Auburn resident seeks relief from truck noise
Complaint of overnight truck parking turned over to city's ordinance committee

AUBURN – Auburn resident Jim Hoover is asking the city council to extend its noise ordinance to span over 100 feet.
Jim Hoover, an 11th Street resident, said overnight truck parking near his house is a nuisance.
The city’s current nuisance ordinance regulates noises that travel 75 feet, but Hoover said it is not nearly far enough.
Hoover, who earned his commercial drivers license at 17 years old before joining the U.S. Air Force, said he appeared at the city council meeting Monday to raise awareness about the situation. He told the city council that were 20 trucks at a parking area near his neighborhood in December alone.
The city council said the matter has been turned over to its ordinance committee.
