Carol Elaine (Applegate) Parker, 77 of Auburn
Carol Elaine (Applegate) Parker, 77, of Auburn was born on August 13, 1948, in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Arnold “Clyde” and Ellen F. (Severs) Applegate. She attended school in Brock and graduated from Brock High School with the class of 1967. In April of 1968, Carol was united in marriage to Chraly Parker. The couple were married for 8 years before they divorced. Carol worked for many years at Campbell’s Soup in Tecumseh. She then worked as a certified nurse’s assistant at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City, God Samaritan Society in Auburn, and Belle Terrace Nursing Home in Tecumseh.
Carol was a kind, loving person who loved her family dearly. She lovingly helped raise her nephews Troy and Brian, and nieces Dawn and Tonya. Carol enjoyed gardening, flowers, being outdoors, and caring for animals. She passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Gold Crest Nursing Home in Adames, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of 77 years, 4 months, and 22 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Donald, sisters Norma Applegate and Nora (Edgar) Snyder, niece Cheryl Snyder, and great-nephew and niece Gunner and Sierra Snyder.
Carol is survived by her loving sister Elma Schell of Auburn, nieces: Dawn Goodwin of Auburn, Tonya Nixon and husband Martin of Auburn, nephews: Troy Rakes and wife Donna of Nebraska City, Brian Rakes and wife Irma of Sterling, NE; special grandchildren: Troy R. Rakes, Kathy Nixon, Mitchell & Nyckalas Rakes, and Eli Barney, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the Hall Funeral Chapel, 707 15th Street in Auburn with Marty Nichols officiating.
Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Hall Funeral Chapel, 707 15th Street in Auburn. Family will greet friends from 2-4 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment will follow services at the London Cemetery in rural Auburn.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
