Economic index ends year on a sour note

OMAHA - The Creighton University Mid-America Business Conditions Index ends the year on sour note as manufacturing loses jobs for ninth straight month.
Economist Ernie Goss said wholesale inflation is moderating, but supply managers reported weaknesses in both imports and exports.
December was the ninth consecutive month that the employment index fell below neutral.
The Mid-America Business Conditions Index sank to its lowest level for 2025 in December.
Nebraska manufacturing exports declined 12.6 percent through the first three quarters of 2025.
