Karen M. Navrkal, age 85 of Nebr. City, NE was called home on December 8, 2024 surrounded by her family at Good Samaritan Care Center in Syracuse, NE.

Karen Margaret Navrkal passed away on December  8, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Syracuse, NE surrounded by her family.

She was born September 7, 1939 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to the late Virgil and Mary Margaret (Young) Ramsey.

She attended school in Emerson, IA and graduated with the class of 1958.

A move from Council Bluffs. Iowa brought Karen to Nebraska City, and she worked in retail and was a bartender for years. She loved visiting and dancing.

She then moved to Beaver Lake with her companion Darrell Navrkal and she found her dream job at Plattsmouth Middle School. She was a para for 15 years helping children. She was also a Mentor and involved in Teammates for 15 years.

Karen and Darrell then moved back to Nebraska City to be closer to her family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of whom she loved dearly.  To know Karen was to love her.

Karen leaves behind to cherish her memories – Darrell Navrkal her beloved 40 year companion of Nebraska City, NE, daughter Debbie (DeBolt) Weddle and husband Chris of Nebraska City, NE, son Doug DeBolt and wife Amy of Ashland, NE, granddaughter Melissa (Weddle) Greedy and husband Layne of Nebraska City, NE, grandsons:  Christopher Weddle and wife Allison of Bigfork, MN, David DeBolt of Tampa, FL and Drew DeBolt of Chicago, IL, great-grandchildren:  Lexi Brown, Gage Greedy, Jocely Greedy, Tessa Weddle, Maddie Weddle, Levi Weddle and Layton Weddle, sisters:  Jean Shelly and husband Jim of Buffalo, WY and Patricia House and husband Steve of Randolph, IA, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister Linda Hoffman, as well as her parents.

Private Graveside Services will be held at a later date.
