Cloudbursts, hail reported as storms develop

OMAHA - The National Weather Service forecast a few strong thunderstorms through midnight today with additional rounds of storms on Thursday. Heavy rain in spots and damaging hail are possible. Spotter activation is not expected.
5:55 p.m. - Train moving again after blocking all Nebraska City intersections from 19th Street on the north to south Third Street. The train engine partially blocked the G Road intersection north of town.
4:46 p.m. – Public reports half-inch hail in Fremont County.
4:44 p.m. – AWOS reports 55 mph wind gust south of Nebraska City. Nebraska City Airport reports wind gust of 59 mph. Heavy rain.
4:27 p.m. – Nemaha County in severe thunderstorm warning until 5 p.m.
4:24 p.m. – Severe thunderstorm warning for Fremont County, Iowa. Storm southeast of Nebraska City. Hail damage to vehicles expected. Storm to be around Sidney, Iowa around 4:30 p.m.
4:14 p.m. – Radar indicates 1-inch hail near Cook.
Flash flooding in Kansas
4:01 p.m. – Flash flood warning for northeastern Kansas until 8 p.m. Radar indicates heavy rain, flash flooding and thunderstorms. Two to 3.5 inches of rain have fallen with up to three inches more possible for the warned area.
