January 12, 1953 – March 1, 2025
Jodell “Jodi” (Riensche) Bridgmon, 72, of Cook, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born on January 12, 1953, to Gilbert and LuElla (Hahn) Riensche, Jodi spent her life in Cook, Nebraska, where she built a home filled with love, laughter, and family. She attended Nemaha Valley High School before marrying the love of her life, Steve Bridgmon, on May 24, 1970, and together they shared over five decades of devotion and cherished memories.
Jodi is survived by her husband, Steve Bridgmon; her sister, Jacque Kraenow of Nebraska City; and her children, Jeramy Bridgmon of Cook, Kelly Bridgmon and his wife Bekki of Syracuse, and Nick Bridgmon and his wife Andi of Pleasant Dale. She was a beloved grandmother to Eric Bridgmon and his wife Sara of Gretna, Lane Bridgmon, Spencer Bridgmon, and Karleigh Bridgmon of Syracuse, and Georgia Bridgmon and Ryker Bridgmon of Pleasant Dale. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Brantley Bridgmon and Jesse Bridgmon of Gretna. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and LuElla Riensche, and her brother, Gilbert Riensche Jr.
Jodi was hardworking and determined. From 1982 to 1989 she owned and operated the Broken Spoke Bar. She later went on to work at American Meter for 26 years. Outside of work, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She always had a vegetable garden and enjoyed canning. She was also known for her incredible cooking—everyone who had the pleasure of trying Jodi’s food had a favorite dish. In addition to her love for family, she adored spending time with her dogs Fibi, Oscar, and Levi, who were always by her side.
Jodi’s warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and simple joys that will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Services will be held at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Syracuse, NE on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 1:00pm. Memorials may be directed to the family.
