Daughter charged with arson after Nebraska City house fire

NEBRASKA CITY - Natasha Graham, 38, of Nebraska City is charged in Otoe County with first-degree arson on Feb. 1.
A Nebraska City Police Department affidavit says firefighters were dispatched to a house fire at 705 11th Corso about three hours after the occupant called police to say she had received a threat about burning the house down.
Police say they arrived at 12:34 a.m. to see a small fire on the west side of the house on an exterior basement door. The occupant, Graham’s mother, told investigators she woke up and smelled smoke. She said she called 911 after seeing flames from a kitchen window.

The affidavit says police believe Graham went to the residence to pick up some clothes that were left for her in a pickup truck. The affidavit says Graham expressed surprise that there had been a fire.
The county judge set a $50,000 bond for Graham and scheduled a preliminary hearing on Feb. 26.
