Rose Mary Burger, age 95 of Nebraska City

Rose Mary Burger, age 95 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Friday morning; January 31, 2025 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City.
Rose Mary (Gottwald) Burger was born on May 3, 1929 at the family home southwest of Nebraska City, the daughter of Adolph R. and Anna Scholastica (Brandt) Gottwald. She attended school at St. Joseph School and District #73 Mohawk Country School.
She was united in marriage to Albert Louis “Shorty” Burger on June 1, 1949 at St. Joseph Catholic Church near Paul, NE and to this union three daughters were born: Beverly, Gail and LeAnn.
Rose Mary was a farm wife and worked alongside her husband Albert for many years. Later, she began working at the former Pendleton Woolen Mills in Nebraska City where she worked for some 23 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Altar Society and the Legion of Mary.
She is survived by her daughters: Beverly Bond (Jim) of Wahoo, NE, Gail Bond (Richard) of Nebraska City and LeAnn Burger (Rick) of Weeping Water, NE; three grandchildren: Kurt Bond (Kari) of Longmont, CO, Lisa Jewell (Mike) of Syracuse, NE and Jeremy Bond (Kelly) of Gretna, NE; four great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Kyle and Kaden Bond all of Longmont, CO and Mckenzie Bond of Gretna, NE; sister-in-law Marcella Gottwald of Nebr. City; other family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert on September 14, 2018, a brother Alton Gottwald, a sister Bernadine Fox and her husband Harold, son-in-law Gary Bond and her parents.
The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 4) followed by a Rosary/Prayer Service at 7 p.m. led by Fr. Jonah Brox; all at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.
Private family graveside services and burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery at later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Assn. or Nebr. City Fire/Rescue.
