Dee Antes, age 81 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Wednesday morning; January 8, 2025 at the Ambassador Care Center in Nebraska City.

Dorothy Dee Antes was born on February 1, 1943 in Atlantic, IA; the daughter of Harley R. and Deloris C. (Dunn) Bagley.  Her family later moved to Nebraska City where she attended school and graduated from the Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1961.

She was united in marriage to Howard Antes on March 26, 1988 in Nebraska City, NE. 

Dee worked as a bookkeeper at various businesses in Nebraska City over the years.  These businesses included the former Sears Catalog Store, at Andrews Monument Company, at the former Otoe County Bank and former Haverty’s Gas Station.  She retired in 2005 from the former Mercer’s Hardware Store after working there for several years.

She was a longtime member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Nebraska City and held several offices within the organization.  She also served as a State Officer for the Eagles Auxiliary in 1984.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and currently belonged to the Syracuse, NE Legion Auxiliary Post.

She is survived by her husband Howard Antes of Nebraska City; children:  Lori Koeneke (Jerry) and Matt Driever (Tina) all of Nebraska City; grandchildren:  Scott Epland, Bryan Epland, Mariah Koeneke, Kaycee Dreiver, Bradley Driever and Kelson Driever; great-grandchildren:  Cooper, Karson, Jaxon, Brinly, Easton, Harley and another due in March; sister in law Arlene Schreiter of Nebraska City and brother in law Gary Antes of Salt Lake City, UT; other family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by a son Kevin Driever, her parents Harley and Deloris and a sister Bonnie Barrett.

Services will be held Wednesday (1/15) at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Nebraska City with Pastor Tom Osborne officiating.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday (1/14) at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.
