SIDNEY -- The Sidney City Council approved an agreement with Integrity Construction for LB840 funds on Tuesday.

Integrity Developments, LLC., is seeking to partner with the City of Sidney to build new homes in Sidney. Sidney and Cheyenne County Economic Development Director Brandy Stone explained the proposal to the city council.

"We recently reviewed a contract with Integrity Construction. They're out of Scottsbluff, and super exciting that we have a developer in the Panhandle finally. So, we're starting to work on more housing, and this one is for two houses, going out of the Ranch subdivision," Stone said.

She said the plan is the two homes will be the start of a bigger project. She added there are several lots ready for improvements.

"We do have a lot of developed lots in Sidney. They are ready to go, and ready for houses to go on them, so this is just one more step in that direction. We're asking that the council approve this as well. Integrity Construction plans to use funding approved by the Rural Workforce Housing Funds Committee and their own working capital as a match to contribute upfront to the project. Since the City Council added housing to the LB840 plan, we've done some research for LB840 funds and how it can be used for housing development," Stone said.

She added she has reached out to other communities that have been successful. She said Integrity Construction plans to work with local contractors as much as possible. They want to begin work as soon as possible.
