Robert Moody Kendall Jr., age 72 of Union died November 1, 2023 on the family farm near Union.  Bob was born December 6, 1950 in Nebraska City, the son of Robert Moody and Esther Ann (Mullis) Kendall Sr.  He was a lifelong farmer in the Union area and graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1969.  Bob married Deborah Baur April 23, 1972 in Nebraska City.  Bob served in the Nebraska National Guard and was a Cass County Deputy Sheriff for 26 years before he retired.  He served on the Cass County Rural Water Board and East Union Cemetery Board.  Bob loved farming, antique tractors, reading, gun collecting and spending time with his family.  He especially enjoyed car shows and had received awards when showing his 1965 Ford Galaxy. 


Survivors include his wife, Deborah of Union; children, Rachel (Roger) Hamling of Union, Megan (Amber) Kendall of Bellevue, David (Kimberly) Kendall of Union; sister, Marcia (Pedro) Rengifo of Union; grandchildren, Reed, Tyler, Brandon, Tierra, Asya and Tayler; great grandchildren, Miles, Carter and Demi; many other relatives and friends.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents. 


Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Plattsmouth with burial in the East Union Cemetery near Union.  The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service.


Visitations will be 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City.


Memorials are suggested to the Cass County Sheriff's Office or East Union Cemetery.
