LINCOLN - In her latest legislative column, State Sen. Julie Slama says re-evaluating the safety of Highway 2 is a step in the right direction.

A 55 mph speed limit is being imposed on the four-lane highway on two-miles near Palmyra.

Slama said the action is the result of voices in southeast Nebraska concerned about highway safety as accidents on the highway become too familiar.
