ELKHORN, Neb. -- Two people were arrested in Elkhorn after drugs were found in their home.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said they were contacted by the Seward County Sheriff’s Office about a previous traffic stop. The information from that traffic stop reportedly led to the identification of suspects of drug-related activity in Douglas County.

Officials said a search warrant was used at a home in Elkhorn on Thursday. Police reported finding 25 lbs. of marijuana, 1,700 high potency THC vape cartridges, 0.6 lbs. of psilocybin (mushrooms), several THC edibles, various packaging materials, vacuum sealer, scales, ammunition, and U.S. currency.

According to authorities, they arrested 32-year-old Nicolas Phelps and 31-year-old Kassandra Slack for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, delivery of a controlled substance near a school, drug tax violation, and three counts of child abuse/neglect – no injury. They were booked at the Douglas County Department of Corrections.
