One-Act portrays orphanage in grips of Yellow Fever

JOHNSON – Fresh off a Pioneer Conference championship the Johnson-Brock One Act finished third in its C2-1 District.
Johnson-Brock performed Lafayette No. 1 by Mandy Conner. It is a speculative history of the Poydras Orphanage in the grips of Yellow Fever in the early 19th Century and a tomb at a New Orleans cemetery.

Head Director Tera Stutheit said the play had her largest cast ever at 50. It featured 16 characters.
Lourdes Central Catholic was second at districts with “The Other Room,” and Elmwood-Murdock advances to state with “The Birch Moon.”
The One Act won the conference with Kolbi Davis named the overall outstanding actress.
