OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha Police Department responded to an injury crash Sunday afternoon. 

Authorities said that on April 10, at 1:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to a personal injury crash at 72nd and Military Ave. 

Officials said that the investigation showed that a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe was heading west on Military Ave. when a 2011 Nissan Altima sedan turned wide onto Military Ave. going west, failing to yield to the Tahoe struck the Nissan on the driver's side and both vehicles then struck a stopped Chevy Silverado which was in the turning lane for southbound 72nd Street. 

OPD said that the unrestrained driver of the Nissan, 25-year-old Romello Thomas of Omaha, was transported to Nebraska Medicine by the Omaha Fire Department with serious injuries. Thomas died shortly after going into surgery. His next of kin has been notified. 

The driver of the Tahoe, a 20-year-old Omaha man, was transported by OFD to Immanuel with minor injuries to his leg that were deemed non-life-threatening. 

Authorities said that the Silverado driver, a 57-year-old Omaha man, and passenger were not injured. 

Westbound Military Ave. was closed from 69th to 72nd Street until 4 p.m.
