NORTH BEND - This year's C-2 quarterfinal matchup between the North Bend Central Tigers and the BRLD Wolverines was nothing short of incredible.

The two teams went blow-for-blow in North Bend on Friday night, with momentum shifting back-and-forth throughout the game. The Tigers jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead in the first quarter, but BRLD answered back with 20 unanswered points to lead 20-14 in the second.

The Tigers would get back into the lead following a pair of Ethan Mullally rushing touchdowns, but the Wolverines put one more score on the board before halftime to cut the deficit to 28-26. The Tigers came out swinging in the third quarter, with Mullally punching in another score followed by a two-point conversion.

Down 36-26, BRLD quarterback Will Gatzemeyer would connect with receiver Lucas Vogt on a touchdown to cut the lead to 36-32. The Tigers would add a field goal, but Gatzemeyer ran in a score late in the third quarter to tie the game at 39-39.

BRLD took the lead after a quick fourth quarter touchdown, but the Tigers answered with quarterback Austin Endorf finding receiver Cody Pospisil to tie the game 46-46. Mullally would add another rushing touchdown, and the Tigers had a 53-46 lead heading towards the end of the game.

The Wolverines would add a rushing touchdown from Kobe Lyons, but missed the extra point to keep the Tigers in the lead 53-52. Following a defensive stop, Gatzemeyer connected with receiver Dylan Beutler on a deep touchdown pass, and a two-point conversion put the Wolverines on top 60-53.

The Tigers would take over with 1:44 left in the game, but Endorf fumbled after being sacked, allowing the Wolverines to run out the clock and hold on for the win after recovering the ball. BRLD advances to the C-2 semifinal round where they will take on the Sutton Mustangs.
