Lourdes offense explodes in win over HTRS
NEBRASKA CITY - The Lourdes Central Catholic volleyball team kept their unbeaten record intact, despite losing a set to HTRS on Tuesday night in Nebraska City.
The Knights, who swept the Titans - 2-0 - in the Weeping Water Tournament last weekend, used 19 kills from freshman Aspen Meyer to win the match, 25-19, 21-25, 26-24, 25-16. Meyer also had 10 digs and a block.
Senior Ivye Meyer had a team-high 37 assists. She also added five digs, five kills a block and a block assist. Emma Heng finished with 25 digs. Gina McGowen and Elaina Madison patrolled the net with four and three blocks respectively.
HTRS was led by senior Lauren Nanninga with eight kills and junior Kaitlyn Glathar added seven.
Lourdes improves to 7-0 and will be at Freeman on Thursday.
The Titans only two losses this season have come at the hands of the Knights. They are now 7-2 and will host their home tournament on Saturday.
