LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska will be without one of their senior leaders in Wednesday's SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl. 

Interim Defensive Coordinator Phil Snow confirmed Monday that Rover/DB DeShon Singleton is out for Wednesday's contest against #15 Utah. Snow said the reason for Singleton being out is not an opt out, but relates to a recent surgery. 

Singleton served as one of Nebraska's six team captains this season, recording 70 total tackles, two interceptions and four pass breakups. Singleton's 70 tackles is second most on the team. 

The injury effectively ends Singleton's career, who is out of college eligibility. 

Nebraska and Utah kick off at 2:30 CT on Wednesday.
