NioCorp announces mine to market potential for scandium

ELK CREEK - Ahead of NioCorp’s town hall meeting in Elk Creek today, the company issued a press release saying the company is positioned to making mine to market scandium alloys, which are typically used in aerospace and batteries.
The company’s statement references a "vertically Integrated" supply chain for scandium alloys from the mine, through refinement and directly to customers.
The company is also considering the producing of finished aluminum-scandium alloy parts for defense and commercial markets.
NioCorp Advanced Metals and Alloys, a subsidiary of Elk Creek Resources Corp., purchased Massachusetts-based FEA Materials for $8.4 million.
NioCorp plans to mine scandium contingent upon project financing and construction. NioCorp would also mine niobium and titanium and, potentially, rare earth oxides.
