Sharon K. Jewell, age 77 of Nebraska City passed away on May 23, 2023 at the Ambassador surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon Kay Jewell was born on July 20, 1945 in Kansas City, MO; the daughter of S. Mike and Irine Mae (Scott) Carr.  Her family later moved to Auburn, NE where she attended Auburn High School and graduated with the Class of 1963.

Sharon was united in marriage to Danny Lee Jewell on June 30, 1963 in Auburn at the Christian Church and to this union five children were born:  Michael, Patrick, Timothy, Jennifer and Scott.

In addition to raising her family, Sharon worked at various jobs, including the former LT&T, Nebraska City Public Schools, Daycare, Donut Stop, Pendleton’s Outlet Store and Full Size Fashions.  She also worked with her husband Danny for 17 years driving truck.  She received numerous Safe Driver Awards.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Nebraska City.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 59 years, Danny Jewell of Nebr. City; children:  Michael Jewell (Lisa) of Syracuse, NE, Patrick Jewell of Grass Valley, CA, Timothy Jewell (Rachel) of Omaha, NE, Jennifer Monaghan (Dave Van Arsdol) of Nebr. City and Scott Jewell (Heather) of St. Louis, MO; 21 grandchildren:  Josh Jewell, Jackie Jewell, Jesse Jewell, Jasmyn Jewell, Elizabeth Dyer, Breeanna Knox, Christian Jewell, Paige Miksch, Keagan Jewell, Nicholas Monaghan, Christopher Monaghan, Derek Van Arsdol, Bryson Van Arsdol, Brooke Johnson, Preston Van Arsdol, Brett Jewell, Bailey Jewell, Bradyn Jewell, Caleb Jewell, Cole Jewell and Chloe Jewell; 8 great-grandchildren:  Barrett Pugh, Piper Jewell, Lilaea Coon, Ezrah Knox, Skylar Knox, Davina Dyer, Haddesah Miksch and Delilah Jewell; siblings:  Sandra Brubeck of Richmond, MO, Shirley Goff of Silver Springs, MD, Nancy Seybert of Omaha, NE, Robin Konigsmark of Lincoln, NE; father-in-law Bernard Hathaway of Talmage, NE; sisters-in-law:  Wanda Carr of Council Bluffs, IA and Chris Jewell of Colony, NY, brothers-in-law:  Andy Love of Odessa, MO and James Jewell of Aberdeen, MD, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Haley Jewell, sister Juanita Love, brothers:  Jack Carr, Joe Carr and Rich Carr; father-in-law Charles Jewell, mother-in-law Hilda Hathaway and other family.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at the First Christian Church in Nebraska City with Rev. Michael Schmidt officiating.  Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday (5/29) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.

Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church or family choice.
