OMAHA, Neb. -- A Carter Lake, Iowa man was sentenced in Omaha for his participation in a methamphetamine drug conspiracy. 

35-year-old Nicholas J. Weare was sentenced to 168 months' imprisonment, with no parole in the federal system. After his release, he will begin a five-year term of supervised release. 

According to officials, on October 28, 2020, Weare was seen near the Omaha Marriott Downtown in the Capitol District.

The defendant was said to have had several pending arrest warrants. While searching Weare after his arrest, officers said they found approximately 55 grams of methamphetamine.

Weare admitted to purchasing approximately 20 pounds of methamphetamine over the period of the drug conspiracy.
