One injured as semi fire shuts down Sunday traffic near Ashland
Fire crews were on-hand along Interstate 80 Sunday morning for a semi fire that halted traffic.

ASHLAND, Neb. -- Fire crews were on-hand along Interstate 80 Sunday morning for a semi fire that halted traffic.
The semi caught fire along I-80 eastbound near Ashland, causing the area to be closed down just before 10:00 a.m. Crews were at the scene for a little over an hour trying to put the fire out, and the roadway reopened just after 11:00.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and Ashland Fire says one person was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln with serious injuries.
